In 1978, the Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was developed for the DRM (German Racing Championship) by West German racing team Zakspeed. This car featured an extremely low-profile wide body born of intensive wind tunnel testing, and weighed a mere 790kg. A 1,427cc inline-4 DOHC turbo engine was capable of 375hp.
