Tamiya's first shaft 4WD racing buggy, which became the object of admiration

Introduced in 1985 as Tamiya's first shaft 4WD racing buggy. It quickly became known for its combative form with a low centre of gravity design and high performance running full of innovative mechanisms. It captivated many fans. The chassis is a three-part structure consisting of front and rear gearboxes and a centre monocoque. It is attractive for its high maintainability. The suspension is a double wishbone equipped with monoshock oil dampers and stabilizers on both front and rear. In particular, the rear is a progressive type that uses a connecting plate and push rod. In addition, the sealed front and rear gearboxes have built-in thrust ball bearings and differential gears. Because many special parts were used only for Hot Shots, the model was younger. Although it became a machine that was out of reach for fans, it instead aroused their admiration for it. The Hotshot became an epoch-making machine that established the genre of 4WD racing buggy. No. 1 in resale requests. In response to your feedback, we are releasing a reprint version.

A reprint version that has been updated while retaining the attractive basic structure

Based on the design concept of not making any changes to the form or structure as much as possible, we have removed parts that do not fit the current situation and Hot Shot (2007) is a reprint version with only the parts that are difficult to assemble updated. Major mechanisms such as shaft drive 4WD and front and rear double wishbone suspension equipped with adjustable type monoshock dampers remain the same, but the front and rear drive shafts and propeller shafts have been changed. The oil damper has been changed to a highly reliable dog bone type. The oil damper has also been changed to the currently mainstream diaphragm type. Also, since the reprint kit uses ESC for the speed controller, the rear aluminium heat sink is not originally necessary. However, This part, which is the focal point of the Hot Shot's rear view, was left as is as a dummy. The Hot Shot still has an unfading charm. I'm looking forward to comparing it with a modern 4WD off-road racer.
